Major recruitment drive launched by Pharmacist Support

Pharmacist Support has issued a call to the profession to join as a volunteer.

The major recruitment campaign was launched by the charity during Volunteers’ Week, which began on Monday, and invites people from across the pharmacy profession and beyond to help champion wellbeing within the pharmacy family. As part of the campaign, the charity is recruiting both pharmacist and lay trustees to join its Board of Trustees, alongside ambassadors to expand its Charity Ambassador volunteer network. The charity is encouraging trustee applications from pharmacists, as well as individuals from outside the profession who can bring valuable skills, perspectives and lived experiences to support the charity’s future development and governance.

Esther Sadler-Williams (pictured), Chair of Pharmacist Support, commented: “Being a trustee is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of our pharmacy family and shape the future direction of the charity. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive board and would warmly encourage applications from people with a broad range of backgrounds, skills and experiences, whether or not they have previous trustee experience.”

Applications open on June 5. The deadline for trustee applications is midday on 3 August 3.

Alongside trustee recruitment, Pharmacist Support is also recruiting new Charity Ambassadors to help raise awareness of the charity and strengthen engagement across the profession. The Charity Ambassador recruitment campaign will run over the summer, with opportunities for volunteers to support the charity in flexible ways, including supporting campaigns and events, sharing information within professional networks and helping connect the charity with new audiences and opportunities. The charity says it is keen to hear from individuals working across all areas of pharmacy including community, hospital, GP pharmacy, academia and industry, as well as people at different stages of their careers and from across Great Britain.

Danielle Hunt, Chief Executive of Pharmacist Support, advised: “Volunteers are at the heart of Pharmacist Support and make an incredible contribution to the work we do. Whether someone joins us as a Trustee or Charity Ambassador, they will play an important role in helping ensure no one in our pharmacy family faces challenging times alone. We are keen to hear from people with a wide range of experiences, backgrounds and perspectives who share our passion for supporting wellbeing across the profession.”
